Objectives and mission

The society

The Spanish Society of Facial Plastic Surgery is constituted given the need to eliminate discrimination in training and profession that historically falls on certain specialties which, according to their training programs and legislation comply with adequate training for the performance of Facial Plastic Surgery.

The Society has therefore, the philosophy and primary aim of integrating without prejudice to others, all those specialties exclusively medical for their education, training and legislation contemplate the practice of partial or total of the Facial Plastic Surgery, also considering, the Facial plastic surgery as a multidisciplinary subspecialty that can be exerted by various medical specialties after acquiring sufficient training.

These specialties:

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, regulated by the BOE. 230 of September 25, 2007: ORDER SCO/2753/2007, of 4 September, by which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, regulated by the BOE. 119 of May 15, 2010: ORDER SAS/1257/2010, of 7 May, by which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
Otolaryngology, regulated by the BOE. 110 of May 8, 2007: ORDER SCO/1262/2007 of 13 April, which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Otolaryngology.
Medical-Surgical Dermatology and Venereology regulated by the BOE. 230 of September 25, 2007: ORDER SCO/2754/2007, of 4 September, by which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Medical-Surgical Dermatology and Venereology.
Ophthalmology, regulated by the BOE. 276 of November 16, 2009: ORDER SAS/3072/2009, of 2 November, by which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Ophthalmology.

The fulfillment of this mission will be implemented through the following means:

PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION

The Society aims to promote the integration of professionals from different specialties around a common goal: developing individual and institutional interests of Facial Plastic Surgery.

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION

Through a large number of training activities, SECPF provides to its members an updated and ongoing training that will allow them to achieve, in the exercise of their profession, the highest quality standards.

SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS

The SECPF promote the realization of multidisciplinary scientific sessions with the participation of the best professionals in their field, with the latest innovations in online sessions with one objective to reach all members.

RESEARCH

The Society is committed to the advancement of the specialties that form in the area of facial plastic surgery, including among its objectives the promotion and development of scientific and technical research that contributes to better performance of professional competencies.

PROFESSIONAL PRESTIGE

We encourage our partners and members, the promotion and visibility in the society as part of a select group of professionals united for the excellence work in facial plastic surgery.

COURSES AND CONFERENCES

The Society will have an annual congress that will offer a program with the newest trends and prospects, as well as the latest research in facial plastic surgery worldwide. It also aims to be the best forum for the dissemination and promotion of our members.

AGREEMENTS AND COLLABORATIONS

Among our objectives will be to promote international agreements with other public and private associations and administrations. The Spanish Society of Facial Plastic Surgery can join international associations or federations provided that this should be approved in Ordinary or Extraordinary General Assembly.

PARTICIPATION OF PARTNERS / MEMBERS

The active participation of our members, as dynamic evolving society, will be promoted and encouraged to the greatest enrichment of all members. We believe the multidisciplinary nature of the SECPF is a great value.

RELATIONSHIP WITH MOTHER COMPANIES

Establish a close relationship with the "Society Mother" of each of the specialties that make up the SECPF is a priority. Since facial plastic surgery competence can be performed by different specialties, a close collaboration with mother societies is a benefit for the members to integrate the two of them.
